Life
Commentary by Peter Shepherd

“Life is like a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you only spend it once.” ~ Lillian Dickson
And Abraham Lincoln: "In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years."
“Life's not about waiting for the storm to pass... It's about learning to dance in the rain.” ~ Viviane Greene
We create our internal experience of reality by choosing our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. Each moment is a new opportunity to think differently, regardless of all the moments that came before it. H.G. Wells: "We must not allow the clock and the calendar to blind us to the fact that each moment of life is a miracle and a mystery."
“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” ~ Albert Einstein
Sometimes, though, in-between achievements, getting off the bike is a good idea, to look at things with a more objective, less involved perspective. To reflect, learn lessons and plan. Left brain and right brain need to be in balance. Being 'in the flow' is not the whole of life.
“But what is happiness except the simple harmony between a man and the life he leads?” ~ Albert Camus
Harmony in place of conflict is achieved by being true to your inner self, the loving part of you. As Melody Beattie said, "Live your life from your heart. Share from your heart. And your story will touch and heal people's souls."
“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. Life is beauty, admire it. Life is bliss, taste it. Life is a dream, realize it. Life is a challenge, meet it. Life is a duty, complete it. Life is a game, play it. Life is a promise, fulfill it. Life is sorrow, overcome it. Life is a song, sing it. Life is a struggle, accept it. Life is a tragedy, confront it. Life is an adventure, dare it. Life is luck, make it. Life is too precious, do not destroy it. Life is life, fight for it.” ~ Mother Teresa
As Jim Rohn says, "For things to change, YOU must change!" Life reflects the way you are; if you want a better life, make more of your potential.
