"How can I get my rude sister in touch with reality?"

I cannot stand my sister (I am age 14, she is age 12). She teases me because of me having mental illnesses, is totally rude, and has no idea she is not the center of the universe. We have even gone to counseling. How can I get her in touch with reality?

Hi - all we can ever really do when other people behave in ways that are distasteful to us is to speak our truth to them. If your sister continues to behave unkindly to you, then I suggest that you say to her, kindly but firmly:

"I love you, but I am not willing to be around you when you act like this. When you can offer me better energy that feels good to me, I'll be willing to be around you." And then you leave the room and go do something else.
