The high-value Psychotechnics GSR Meter is used in
psychotherapy and modern methods of personal developmentThis instrument has been produced after many years research to satisfy the needs of psychoanalysts, those involved in counseling, psychometric testing, health diagnostics and by those wishing to engage in self-analysis. The requirement is for a Meter which will measure all ranges of skin resistance in Ohms from zero to infinity with a high degree of sensitivity. In addition the Meter can be adapted for use with an AID converter in computer analysis and recording of sessions for in-depth analysis of personality and aptitudes (further details on application).
The Meter Balance Control is scaled from 1 to 6 and adjustment of this control will produce a 'Set' reading of the Meter - needle within these resistance limits allowing the actual skin resistance to be found. A reading of 1 corresponds to zero, 2 to 5,000 Ohms, 3 to 12,500 Ohms, 4 to 40,000 Ohms, 5 to 100,00 Ohms and 6 to infinity.
By using modem integrated circuitry the design has been made more stable, uses less current and is simplified for ease of use. In addition to the Balance Control there is only the Gain, on/off Control reading from 1 to 10, and the Test/Set/Transit Switch. The Meter is normally used in the Set Position. The Test function shows the state of the battery and the Transit function protects the meter movement in transit.
Access to the battery compartment, containing a PP3 cell, is provided at the rear, allowing for rapid exchange of the battery if it runs down during sessions. The circuit is designed for minimum current drain and battery life exceeds 200 hours. Rechargeable batteries can be used.
The instrument complies fully with the European Biological Instrument Regulations.
A 5 mm. Jack plug, leads and clips are provided so that food cans can be attached for use as electrodes. Alternatively, plug-in copper electrodes can be supplied for £5 (Euro 7.50 / US$ 8). For self-analysis double electrodes can be provided at the same cost, to leave one hand free for writing and Meter adjustment.
A further 2.5 mm socket is provided to enable the Meter to be connected through an AID converter to a Computer to enable readings to be made of the Human Energy Field. This shows the peaks of activity of the various Chakras in a frequency spectrum. See this article for details.
