The FORCAST formula is:
The FORCAST formula was developed to accurately determine how readable
army training manuals were. It was intended to be used by relatively
unskilled personnel, who had only to add up the number of monosyllabic
words in a sample.
The formula does not deal with sentence length, so can be used on text without sentences, such as forms.
