About the Editor

Ken Ward's Free Image Editor is an editor for photographs and other types of image. It is a dot Net program, and works where dot Net is installed, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, etc.

It does not let you draw pictures, like a drawing program, but simply lets you edit existing images, making them lighter, darker, etc; changing their dimensions, contrast, colour, etc; cropping, inverting, etc.

The image editor came into existence because many image editors are slow to load and do their work slowly. Ken Ward's Image Editor loads quickly letting you do a quick edit on your image.

The editor has two screens shown side by side, so the 'original image' and the 'adjusted image' can be compared.

With Ken Ward's Image Editor you can:

  • Brighten Generally
  • Brighten Shadows
  • Change brightness and colours using the Brightness and Colour Dialog
  • Change Contrast
  • Crop an image
  • Darken
  • Edge Detect
  • Convert a coloured image to Grey Scale
  • Mirror, or flip left-to-right
  • Make a Negative Image
  • Open the saved file in another editor, for instance, in jpeg Optimiser, or a high-street program such as Corel Draw or Photoshop. (Saves opening the other program, searching for the file and loading it.)
  • Paste an image from elsewhere; for example, from a screenshot.
  • Open a Recent File List
  • Clear the Recent File List
  • Redo a previously undone action
  • Reload the image
  • Resize the image
  • Rotate the image left
  • Rotate the image right
  • Sharpen an image
  • Smooth an image
  • Undo a previous action
  • Zoom the image

Files

The file downloaded is imageFiltersSetup.zip. It contains the setup.exe, which sets up the program on your computer. If you don't have a zip program, download Ken Ward's Zipper first.
