Building a mailing list
After achieving our 40,000 subscribers goal, several people who run web sites asked me how on Earth I managed that. How is it possible to succeed on the Internet with over a billion other sites in competition? Well, that's a big question, though I might add, being popular doesn't mean rich - you still need to make sales.
So how do I get the large number of subscribers? By offering some good publications freely and in combination with a newsletter subscription. How do I keep the subscribers? By having genuine interesting content in each issue, so it's a real magazine and not just a sales letter.
How do I make money? Through Google AdSense and through good affiliations. By the way, I have bought and used successfully every product that I recommend, or a friend that I can trust has, as it is essential not to recommend duds. Fortunately the quality of many products these days is excellent in my opinion, far better than a few years ago. It's been expensive to test everything but I've learned and benefited a lot in the process. Plus I sell my own courses and products, that some people recognize to be what they're looking for. I think they are the best available for what they are aiming to achieve, but other people have different needs and I realize that - hence the wide range of affiliations.
