Paul Whittington: 'Hero'
Paul Whittington's moving short (published by the brilliant independent film service Jaman) tells the story of a young soldier who returns from the Falkland's War emotionally scarred by what he has seen. That the tale is told through the eyes of his adoring younger brother makes it all the more heartbreaking. Says a Jaman community reviewer: "My heart aches for all the Marks and their moms and little brothers that we're making in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere. Should be seen by anyone who thinks war is glamorous or that all soldiers who come home alive come home whole."

Free Hugs Campaign
Sometimes, a hug is all what we need. Free Hugs is a real life controversial story of Juan Mann, a man whose sole mission was to reach out and hug a stranger to brighten up their lives. In this age of social disconnectivity and lack of human contact, the effects of the Free Hugs campaign became phenomenal. As this symbol of human hope spread across the city, police and officials ordered the Free Hugs campaign banned. What we then witness is the true spirit of humanity come together in what can only be described as awe inspiring.

Ken Wilber - Interpreting the Singularity
Inventor/futurist Ray Kurzweil, who often talks about a point sometime in the next 50 years when our rate of technological progress begins to approach the infinite - an event he calls "the Singularity." This essentially represents the event horizon of our own technological evolution, beyond which we simply cannot imagine. Is there actually something to the concept of the Singularity, or is it just a sort of mythical Rapture for tech geeks? What are the implications of such exponential advancement of technology to human consciousness? As data becomes more and more free, and therefore more and more ubiquitous, how can the Integral vision help us navigate the "global brain" currently under construction? More about the Integral vision at Holons.

Ken Wilber - Integral "Third-Way" Politics
While surveying the current American political landscape, it can be easy to feel as though the country is divided into two radically opposing populations: the Left and the Right. When watching the speeches, interviews, and debates on either side of the fence, there is such an incredible difference between the tone, rhetoric, and messages coming from the two major political parties that many pundits have commented that it is as though we live in two utterly different Americas, with very little overlap between the two. But the truth is, we do not live in two Americas, but in a single America composed of at least four or five different sets of values, all crammed together into a two-party political system that is becoming increasingly incapable of representing these wildly different perspectives. More about the Integral vision at Holons.

video

Patrick Sweeney - Realizing Ordinary Mind
Patrick offers a beautiful discussion of nondual consciousness, the nameless, effortless, self-liberating quality of awareness in which all distinctions between self and other, this and that, inside and outside fall away completely, leaving only the brilliant clarity of this very Moment, exactly as it is. More about the Integral vision at Holons.

Zeitgeist - the full Movie
In three parts, Zeitgeist (which has no credits) attempts to show that 1) Christianity is rehashed pagan sun-worship and is used by the rich and powerful to control people, 2) the 9/11 tragedies were part of an elite conspiracy, and 3) ever since World War I, the ultra-rich have been secretly manufacturing wars and financial collapses to control the populace and to get richer and more powerful. Some alternative commentary see here. For a better understanding of the Gnostic religion and it's background I suggest you read Timothy Freke's book, Jesus and the Lost Goddess: The Secret Teachings of the Original Christians.

Deconstructing The Myth Of AIDS (Gary Null)
In 1984 we were told that HIV was the cause of AIDS. In his provocative documentary film, Gary Null, Ph.D. challenges virtually every statement ever made by the American medical industrial complex on the virus. While presenting the findings of Nobel Prize-winning scientists and leading virologists, the film exposes the political maneuvering, conspiracies and cover-ups that have provided obstacles to the study of this human catastrophe from the start. For example, there are experts who believe that AIDS is the result of multiple factors, including drug use, stress and nutritional deficiency, but that government agencies made a politically strategic decision to de-emphasize these hypotheses and thus discourage certain researchers and their funding. Meanwhile, AZT, an infamously failed treatment for cancer, and now the primary FDA-approved approach to treating AIDS, is highly toxic and can produce the very symptoms of the illness it is prescribed to treat. Deconstructing the Myth of AIDS goes beyond medicine and science to question the very foundation of our reliance on government bureaucracies where it concerns matters of life and death.

The Drugging of our Children (Gary Null)
In the absence of any objective medical tests to determine who has ADD or ADHD, doctors rely in part on standardized assessments and the impressions of teachers and guardians while their diagnosis leaves little room for other causes or aggravating factors, such as diet, or environment. Hence, diagnosing a child or adolescent with ADD or ADHD is often the outcome, although no organic basis for either disease has yet to be clinically proven. Psychiatrists may then prescribe psychotropic drugs for the children without first without making it clear to parents that these medications can have severe side-effects including insomnia, loss of appetite, headaches, psychotic symptoms and even potentially fatal adverse reactions, such as cardiac arrhythmia. And yet, despite these dangers, many school systems actually work with government agencies to force parents to drug their children, threatening those who refuse with the prospect of having their children taken from the home unless they cooperate.
