Two cheaper alternatives are offered by Inquisitive Instruments, a UK company. The Mindwalker 2 [see above right] is also a good auto-rebalancing meter. It's relatively compact and the basic price is 300 GBP (aprox. US$ 600) plus taxes, etc. The Mindwalker 3 [see pictures below] is quite different. It interfaces hand-held electrodes (solo or dual) or two finger electrodes to the USB input on your PC and presents comprehensive bio-monitoring information on your computer display. It is also auto-rebalancing and has a unique facility whereby hand movements are detected and removed from the display; hence it is very easy to use, and with modern PCs the graphics are smooth and responsive. The following GSR Meter Course presents the basic information you need to understand the principles of GSR metering and to include the use of a GSR Meter in both your one-to-one psychotherapeutic and self-administered personal development sessions.
Most of us have heard a lot about "left and right brain" and how important it is - in this left-brain dominated culture - to be able to access and use our natural right-brain faculty for intuitive thought. In fact there is much more to it: the significance of the left-right brain split is profoundly important in understanding and monitoring both the therapeutic and personal development processes.
A Bilateral Meter is able to instantly differentiate the comparative arousal of left and right cortical hemispheres. The application of bilateral biofeedback monitoring (used in conjunction with the conventional GSR Meter) has undergone a tremendously successful research project - both in theory and practice - on the basis of which the following Bilateral Meter Course is presented.
