How to Use Inner Guidance to Find Your Soul Mate
Introduction
Soul mates have a relationship with physical, mental, spiritual
and emotional chemistry. This chemistry on all levels means you
can learn and grow in an exclusive relationship for an entire lifetime.
Experiencing this chemistry helps you know that this is the person
with whom you can share your life. As you get to know your soul
mate attempt to resolve all outstanding contentious issues and points
of disagreement before becoming engaged. Remember the decision to
marry is made in your heart. You know if it is right to marry because
there is a feeling of inevitability. Peace will surround this decision.
Failure to recognise and marry your soul mate can lead to stress
and strain in married life.
For Example
Greg and Mary had been dating for four years. Their courtship was
stormy. Although sexually attracted to each other, they were unable
to resolve contentious issues. They didn't seem to look at life
the same way. After four years neither wanted to part and they had
grown used to each other and the stormy nature of their relationship,
accepting it as normal. One evening Gregg proposed and Mary - thinking
that things would improve if they were married - accepted his proposal.
Soon the couple were busy organising their wedding and for a time
forgot their disagreements. They had a wonderful romantic honeymoon
together in the Swiss Alps. On their return Gregg and Mary settled
into married life, but the conflicts that were never resolved came
up again and the arguments became heated. Gregg and Mary both discovered
that their marriage, of which they had such high hopes, was like
walking on ice.
An Exercise in Finding Your Soul Mate
To meet your soul mate your relationship skills need to mature and
your awareness needs to grow so that you can recognise your ideal
partner. This might mean dating many partners so that you can discover
the kind of person that suits you best. Begin by writing out a detailed
description of your ideal partner. Date on an experimental basis
partners that match this description and that you feel drawn to
know intimately. If after getting to know your partner, your relationship
does not have chemistry on all levels, admit that it is unsuitable.
After ending the relationship write down how the relationship was
unsuitable, what you have learned from the relationship and changes
you need to make in your behaviour. Then write out a more accurate
description of the person you are looking for. You will be guided
to your soul mate more quickly if you are sufficiently mature to
resolve disagreements skilfully and are very clear as to the kind
of person who would be your ideal partner.
