I'd like to take a little look at an issue that has been on my mind a lot recently and which I've been doing a fair old bit of thinking and reading about... Making fast, resolute decisions.
The power and strength with which we move through the world is in direct proportion to our ability to make decisions. By default our impact on others, our certainty, our strength of character, and our congruence can also in many ways be traced back to this. If we make fast decisions, yes, we may sometimes make mistakes but we will not be stagnating and more often than not we will make amazing leaps forward, synchronicities will even occur.
For example in May of last year I was living in Stockholm after several years there. Upon visiting London for a few days and talking to few friends I made a fairly quick decision, with total commitment to see it through, that I would move back to London in the middle of august for the autumn.
First to test the water, but with a view to a more permanent move. When I got back to Stockholm I threw out a letter to Facebook friends asking if anyone knew of a flat to rent and within a day a girl who I have collaborated artistically with with in the past offered to rent me her flat in Zone 2 for a reduced rent (whole 3 room flat fully furninshed) and that she was going to be away from the 13th of august!!!!
Perfect!!! I decided there and then to take it. I came over to London and within a few weeks I sorted out an agent for my professional life. I have made many great contacts and acquaintances, am meeting more new people than ever, and now I'm enjoying life in a way I haven't for years and writing this to boot. All because I got off the fence and made a decision.
That is only one example, but decisions are constantly molding your future. You have no real knowledge of what the complete impact of a decision is, and in many ways trying to analyse EVERY repercussion of a decision will only get your mind more confused and fuzzy anyway.
What am I advocating? Well, that the best decisions are fast, snap decisions that come from the intuition. You just feel that internal nudge and make the choice. In research done by various coaches into life changing decisions, a far higher percentage of decisions which had a major positive impact were fast, intuitive decisions. Those that were mulled over and thought about for a long time invariably seemed right to the intellect but were less positive in the long run. I'm not rubbishing the latter but simply illustrating a trend here!
Write down 3 life-changing decisions which you took in the blink of an eye. Write down 3 which you mulled over for a long time. How have those decisions impacted your life since then, positively and negatively? Interesting, huh?!! The body really does know best in this case (read Malcolm Gladwell's brilliant book Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking for more in-depth stuff on intuition).
Fast decisions release energy and give rise to action. Think of prehistoric man when confronted by a sabre-toothed tiger in the forest. Did he stand around thinking about what to do? No, of course not, his decision was made by his body and he sprang into action in a flash with maximum effectiveness.
Prehistoric man could be characterised by the mindset "I am". With all our advances in education, introspection, philosophy and science we have instead landed on our heads and become entrenched in the mindset of "I think therefore I am".
Now, I'm not suggesting we all become cavemen. (Well, it does have its place sometimes but that's not within the scope of this article!) But I am suggesting that by making fast intuitive decisions we can return to some of the vitality and physical presence which we have lost. Make no mistake, we are energetically castrated by being indecisive. We end up fastening in our heads, which on some level impacts everyone we interact with. AND we greatly reduce our own effectivity.
What decisions have you been putting off? Delay no more. Get them out of the way. Fast and clean.
Practice making decisions. Make them faster, faster and faster still, with more certainty. Whenever you find yourself drifting, WAKE UP!, and make a decision. Make decisions large and small. Practice feeling the intuitive "nudge" in your body. Practice acting on it with total certainty. Boldness has magic in it.
You will be freeing up energy for other things, and you will start to become like a guided missile of directional certainty.

Daring to be Yourself
The aim of the new book, Daring to be Yourself by Peter Shepherd, is to help you achieve a 'wide-awake' state of consciousness, with integrated use of left and right brain abilities, forming the bedrock for breakthroughs in personal consciousness and spiritual insight. This 264-page, $8.95 digital eBook is like a "best of" the Trans4mind site, all brought together for your convenience. But much more than that, it's also an incredibly powerful program for personal growth. Remove the barriers to self-knowledge and reveal your full potential with this step-by-step approach... "I realize many people use praise in ways that sound frivolous...but I must tell you that your book has changed my life AND I mean that in all ways. I found the entire work wonderfully upbeat, readable and valuable! It really was quite a wakeup call. In the midst of my "trials and tribulations" I had failed to be "me." Anyway, this "talk with you" really did change my life. Thank you! I needed this kind of "kick in the pants." It worked. WOW! You made a huge difference in my world."–Becky, USA
