Drive down almost any road in America and what do you see? A number of different places to stop and get gas, some businesses, and likely more than a handful of fast food restaurants. The fast food business is booming due to the simple fact that people no longer have the time to sit down and have a meal together. Why do we overeat like this? There are a number of different reasons. Every person has their own reason for eating more food than they need to survive, including:
- Attention seeking - some people have a difficult time being alone, or not being noticed, and may find themselves eating more food because they feel as though they do not have as much attention as they need.
- Security - security is a difficult thing to come by, and when you're insecure, no matter whether it's about your job or your love life, you may find yourself overeating.
- Control - we can't control everything in our lives, no matter how much we want to be able to. If you find that you are in a number of situations that you can't control, you may discover yourself eating more and more.
- Love - there's a reason that love is one of the most sung about and written about topics on the planet - it is all encompassing. It doesn't matter whether you're searching for love or are trying to avoid losing your love, a change in your relationship status (or wishing for one) can cause you to overeat quite often.
