How I Overcame My Fear of Public Speaking

Follow Mark’s Tyrrell’s journey from a presentation panic attack to confidently speaking to an audience of 500…

I had been worried about the upcoming presentation, but nothing had prepared me for this. Suddenly my audience was a wall of critical silence, intent on exposing me. Logically I knew that was nonsense but my emotional mind had stopped listening.

My name is Mark Tyrrell, I’m the co-founder of Hypnosis Downloads and this public speaking nightmare I’m about to reveal is a true story about one of our very first hypnosis workshops.

When panic swamps thought
So now it was time to start my speech. But the level of panic I was feeling not only made speaking impossible, the only option I felt was open to me was running away. I was experiencing an ‘emotional hijacking’, which as someone experienced in psychology I knew fine well, but that made not a jot of difference.

So my urge to leave was on the same level as awaking to find your bed on fire, but there were thirty people waiting for me to educate and entertain them. For two whole days! What was I to do?

I’d done some public speaking before, given a few small workshops, so why now was I swamped with out-of-the-blue, gut-wrenching fear? If I was honest with myself I’d never been entirely comfortable standing up and speaking to more than, well, one person, but sheer panic was new to me.

I have never felt so much like fleeing from anywhere. It took all my willpower to stay in the room, and steadily, bit by bit, my anxiety levels lessened to the point where I became a thinking, communicating human again. But what had happened? And even more worryingly, what if it happened again?

How I made sure I never again got presentation panic
I knew that if I was to carve out a career as a trainer, I had to change myself. So I set out to master both public speaking fear and presentation technique. I didn’t just want to be confident, I wanted to be inspiring. I studied presentation expertise by watching the best over and over until the patterns of their success sank deep into my mind.

I used every hypnotic technique in the book to detraumatize the experience of panicking in front of an audience, and to create a new roadmap for being relaxed, spontaneous and humorous when presenting. I rehearsed presentations hypnotically, ensuring I both knew my material inside out, and prepared myself emotionally.

And although before the next workshop I presented, I couldn’t be sure I wouldn’t panic again, I felt that something had changed. And indeed, when I stood up on that first day I had the mild performance-enhancing nerves that even seasoned presenters can feel. (Without those I can come across a bit bored ;-)

Since that horrendous day I’ve given presentations to tens of thousands, at hundreds of events; once to 500 people for 8 hours straight. And enjoyed it. In fact, I would go so far as to say that these days I get the biggest buzz possible from public speaking – I love it. There have been times when I’ve forgotten my notes, when the powerpoint presentation didn’t work, when unsolvable technical hitches occurred and I still presented confidently. Heck I’ve even temporarily forgotten what I was going to say and still relaxed and given an overall great speech.

How a glass of water showed me how calm I’d become
I remember once when I invited audience questions a man put up his hand and asked: “Tell me, because I’m amazed, how can you lift a glass of water to your mouth in front of 400 people without your hand shaking?” That wasn’t really the sort of question I had in mind but it did make me realize just how far I’d come.

Now admitting in public that I, as a hypnotherapist, had a panic attack while presenting is not my idea of making myself look good, but I’m telling you this because it’s important you know you can overcome fear of public speaking, no matter how severe it is.

The blueprint of how I achieved this is written into the pages of this 10-step course. Everything I learned during that process, and a lot I’ve learned since during thousands of hours of presentations, are included. The hypnotic experiences I used for myself are contained within the course’s hypnosis downloads.

I want you to believe that we can all learn to master fears and present more creatively to amuse, inspire, even captivate any audience. At one time I couldn’t even imagine presenting with confidence; now I can’t imagine presenting without feeling supremely self assured. You can too.

The 10 Steps

1) Public Speaking Confidence – respond to presentations with confidence, energy and enthusiasm instead of anxiety and nerves
2) Presentation Anxiety (Long Term) – reduce anxiety about presenting or speaking in public way before the event is due.
3) Overcome Self Consciousness – train your brain to keep your focus off yourself in social situations so you can relax and enjoy it.
4) 7:11 Breathing – learn a simple yet powerful breathing technique you can use anywhere, to quickly bring down anxiety levels.
5) Control Your Emotions – learn to distinguish between real and perceived threats and calm your ‘primitive’ emotional brain
6) Be Funny – relax deeply and let your inner comedian loose.
7) Speaking Clearly – learn to take full control of your powers of verbal communication
8) Questions from Hell in Presentations – hypnotically rehearse skillfully dealing with difficult questions.
9) Speak Without Notes – master the art of remembering what you want to say to your audience.
10) Powerful Public Speaking – prime your brain to get into presentation ‘flow’ quickly, so that each presentation is a improvement on its predecessor.

How to monitor your improvements – the Progress Checker
Each Step of the course includes a Progress Checker sheet, with a checklist that lets you assess how far you’ve come on that step. This is important for your self confidence, and for an effective learning experience. And as you gain more experience presenting, you may find that repeating the course offers another layer of insight and learning, pushing your skills further and higher.

I Choose

I Choose….
to live by choice, not by chance;
to make changes, not excuses;
to be motivated, not manipulated;
to be useful, not used;
to excel, not compete.
I choose self-esteem, not self-pity.
I choose to listen to my inner voice,
not the random opinion of others.
(Isabel Bauche)

Commentary by Rev. Pamla Ashlay McPherson

I choose to live by choice, not by chance. Too many people live their lives by chance. They are afraid to make choices in their lives because they don’t want to make the wrong one, so rather than research their options, they let chance make the decision for them. Some live by chance because they don’t want to be responsible for the outcome; they would rather blame something or someone for what is happening in their live. Yet others live by chance because their confidence is low, because they believed all the people in their lives that told them they were dumb; they were programmed to fail, so why bother.

I choose to make changes, not excuses. It’s easy to make excuses for your life. It is far easier to tell people why things are not happening, not working, not getting better, then to make the necessary changes. Making changes sometimes means leaving your comfort zone. It will at times take you into the unknown. Most fear the unknown, so they stay in places or with people that are predictable. It’s sometimes easier to know you will be hurt; then to leave and go out on your own where you are not sure you will be safe. The current pain is livable; you know that, because you have been living it for a long time.

I choose to be motivated, not manipulated. Yes, it is easier to allow someone to lead you around in life. To tell you what to do, to say and be; At times the path of least resistance is the one where someone else forges the way through and all you have to do is follow. How many people have followed their great leaders into death because they allowed themselves to be manipulated in to believing the leaders truth. They never took the time, energy or even interest in learning their own truth. People who walk in their own truth are motivated by it. Those who do not are manipulated by the truth of others.

I choose to be useful, not used. How many people do you know who don’t have boundaries; who don’t know how to say no when they don’t really want to help their friend move; who do everything they can for other’s in order to be liked or loved? Those things although useful, also leave you feeling used in live. Living a life of being used does not give energy to yourself or any other part of life. It robs you of your peace and happiness, while at the same time enables others on their path of destruction. Many times it robs others of lessons they need to learn on their own. So, the next time you really don’t want to be used, you may want to say, “Thank you for the opportunity, but I think I will pass.”

I choose to excel, not compete. Competition is the one thing in live that will stop you in your tracks every time. When you are competing with others your focus is taken away from your own growth. I tell my students all the time, everyone grows and learns, not only in different ways, but at different speeds. You can not compare yourself with the other students in the class. Life is our classroom, therefore it is important that we take the ability of excel into our lives. We can only do that when we stop competing. Competing says I am more concerned with your failure, than I am with my success. There is something seriously wrong with that picture.

I choose self-esteem, not self pity. We have all had our share of pity parties. I know I had one myself just last month when I broke four bones in my foot because of something stupid, but I choose not to stay in that party too long. I am self aware enough to know that self pity is a very destructive thing. It will remind you of all the mistakes, the missed opportunities, the pain of all of the past and the fear of the future, if you allow yourself to stay there too long. It will rob you of your self-esteem and leave you in a heap on the floor. Self-esteem comes from liking yourself, loving yourself and being your own best friend. Self-esteem comes from pride in your accomplishments in life and it lifts you up, right out of that pity party. It says to you, “Come on now, what are you doing down there? Don’t you know there is a lot to get done and people who depend on you? Get up and get going; life is short and you’re missing out; that is what you call a party….”

I choose to listen to my inner voice, not the random opinions of others. Truth your gut; you know what is best for you more than anyone else on this planet. Actually off of this planet as well, for those of you who communicate with spirit. Others can only give you their point of view which they created through research on the subject or maybe their own personal experiences. It is important to remember no two people will ever have the exact same experience, because they are both bringing different backgrounds to the table. No two marriages are the same, no two divorces are the same, no two ways of raising children are the same; and no two spiritual paths are the same. That is why we must explore many paths to find the one that resonates with us; the inner us; our soul. You must follow your own truth, for that is the only way you can live your authentic life.

Ever Expanding Love ~ by Harold W. Becker

Love is such an amazingly simple, elegant and universal expression of the very nature of life itself. It is present in every life-giving heartbeat and intrinsic in nebulas swirling with potential in far distant galaxies. It is felt in the beauty of each sunrise and in the gentle embrace of a smile. It is the sublime connection that does more than connect. It is the essence of all that we experience and in that which we have yet to imagine. Love knows no bounds and creates no conditions. It is what it is.

From a very narrow perspective, it would appear that somewhere along the way we may have forgotten (or ignored) this innate wisdom and awareness of love. Our present world is seemingly filled with an absence of love when viewed from a singular perception that we are somehow separate from love. Nothing could be further from the truth. Yet, for reasons we don’t even remember, we strive to maintain this well established stance and continue to find or invent ample evidence to excuse our disconnection from that which we ultimately are.

Is such a love that permeates our very existence, truly destined to remain elusive to our individual and collective expression? Quite the contrary, love is such an essential part of our lives that it is impossible to separate ourselves from it; we only create the illusion that we do. And like fleeting dreams as we stir from a prolonged slumber, the sense of separation is rapidly departing as we are all (re)awakening to our fundamental loving spirit. One by one and around the globe we are turning within and comprehending just how magnificent each and every one of us is at the core of our being.

The more we embody this love right where we are, the greater our capacity to encourage and inspire love in those around us. This accelerates the recollection and cultivation of our universal love and restores our collective potential that has always been rooted in this same love. Individually and together we are acknowledging the reality of love and know that each perspective and experience is an opportunity to ever expand more love.

Love never left us, nor did we ever really leave love. We are the love we seek in the darkest night of our journey just as we are the reflection of love to others that encounter us in our brightest moments. Love awaits us long before we arrive and remains with us in every step we take. It asks for nothing and provides everything. This is the unconditional nature and eternal presence of love. It is who we are and through our expression of it, love continues to expand.

Inspiring Quote of the Day

INTRODUCTION to Trans4mind Newsletter subscribers
I have decided to change the format of the Trans4mind Newsletter to a daily email, Monday through Friday, containing the Inspiring Quote of the Day and as often as possible, a link to a new article or new feature on the Trans4mind.com site.

This is a result of feedback from Newsletter subscribers, that they simply don’t have time to read a long email with a bunch of articles, which has resulted in only a small proportion of Newsletters even being opened, yet alone read. That is not good enough for the work put into producing a full issue every two weeks, and disappointing for those who have submitted their work.

On the other hand, the introduction of the Inspiring Quote of the Day mailing list four months ago has met with an enthusiastic response… most subscribers do indeed read the mailing and judging by their feedback, very much enjoy it.

So I’ve combined the two lists!

I will continue to add the best submitted articles to the Trans4mind website and include a link in the daily mailing to each newly added article, or to a notable section added to the website. This way, if you do appreciate the kind of personal development articles we have been featuring for years, you can still obtain them easily, one at a time, online. And you can keep up with the progress of Trans4mind, which has an increasingly significant role to play in these times.

I very much hope that you will find the new format a nice change and that you will remain a highly valued subscriber to our new daily edition.

Anita Moorjani’s Healing Realization

“I had the choice to come back… or not. I chose to return when I realized that “heaven” is a state, not a place…”

Anita Moorjani fell into a coma due to late-stage cancer. Her husband was told by doctors that she had less than 36 hours to live (her organs were shutting down). All the while, Anita was having a near-death experience, was given the choice to return to her body or not, chose to finish out her life, then had the most remarkable healing ever documented. She is able to share with us what it was like to be out of her body and in that other realm, including her ability to see the past and future, experience timelessness, know her life’s purpose, feel the emotions of others, and even know what caused her life-threatening illness in the first place. This understanding subsequently led to a total recovery of her health. Her new book Dying To Be Me recounts the experience.

The following passage leads to the realization which made her healing possible…

I saw my life intricately woven into everything I’d known so far. My experience was like a single thread woven through the huge and complexly colorful images of an infinite tapestry. All the other threads and colors represented my relationships, including every life I’d touched, whether they related to me in a positive or negative way. I may have been only one thread, yet I was integral to the overall finished picture.

Seeing this, I understood that I owed it to myself, to everyone I met, and to life itself to always be an expression of my own unique essence. Trying to be anything or anyone else didn’t make me better – it just deprived me of my true self! It kept others from experiencing me for who I am, and it deprived me of interacting authentically with them. Being inauthentic also deprives the universe of who I came here to be and what I came here to express.

In that state of clarity, I also realized that I am not who I’d always thought I was: Here I am without my body, race, culture, religion, or beliefs .. yet I continue to exist! Then what am I? Who am I? I certainly don’t feel reduced or smaller in any way. On the contrary, I haven’t ever been this huge, this powerful, or this all-encompassing.

As I looked at the great tapestry that was the accumulation of my life up to that point, I was able to identify exactly what had brought me to where I was today.

Just look at my life path! Why, oh why, have I always been so harsh with myself? Why was I always beating myself up? Why was I always forsaking myself? Why did I never stand up for myself and show the world the beauty of my own soul?

Why was I always suppressing my own intelligence and creativity to please others? I betrayed myself every time I said yes when I meant no. Why have I violated myself by always needing to seek approval from others just to be myself? Why haven’t I followed my own beautiful heart and spoken my truth?

Why don’t we realize this when we are in our physical bodies? How come I never knew that we’re not supposed to be so tough on ourselves?

I still felt myself completely enveloped in a sea of unconditional love and acceptance. I was able to look at myself with fresh eyes and saw that I was a beautiful being of the Universe. I understood that just the fact that I existed made me worthy of tender regard rather than judgment.

I also understood that the cancer was not some punishment for anything that I had done, nor was I experiencing negative karma as a result of any of my actions, as I’d previously believed. It was as though every moment held infinite possibilities, and where I was at that point in time was a culmination of every decision, every choice, and every thought of my entire life. My many fears and my great power has manifested as this disease.

Realizing that I am love was the most important lesson I leaned, allowing me to release all fear, and that’s the key that saved my life.

Love is All You Need Program

New at Trans4mind, Love is All You Need is a free meditation program to help you experience the state of unconditional love – key to lasting joy and fulfillment in your life.

The program of daily exercises and meditations has been proven to have wondrous benefits. A group of us here at Trans4mind has been practicing together, communicating over Skype, and the results have been thrilling. The program is inspired by the book Love for No Reason by Marci Shimoff. The book offers a breakthrough approach to experiencing a lasting state of unconditional love—the kind of love that doesn’t depend on another person, situation or romantic partner, and that you can access at any time and in any circumstance because it is within yourself. Indeed, unconditional love is your true inner nature and essential being. This is the deepest and truest form of love and is the key to lasting joy and fulfillment in life.

We recommend you introduce these methods into your life. Start with one or two of the exercises and gradually increase to do the whole program. Carry the state of being you achieve, and the insights you gain, into your everyday life – that is crucial for the changes to become permanent. Ideally, have one or more partners in this work, so you can share your wins and be mutually supportive. Let your love shine! Please tell us how you get on in the Comments, and share on Facebook.

“You need not leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. You need not even listen, just learn to become quiet, still, and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked.” ~Franz Kafka

There’s nothing esoteric about meditation. Just be there and observe your breath and thoughts and the present moment. Observe your body and mind as though at a distance, without any attachment. Just realize you are not those things you are observing – and at the same time, know you are everything that you are observing. Oneness – being nothing and everything – is enlightenment. You don’t have to be an Indian guru nor sit in a temple. And you don’t have to have an intellectual explanation.

“The first thing you discover is a kind of emptiness, a silence, a presence which doesn’t seem to have content to it, like looking up at a limitless sky. That boundary-less place inside you is your own consciousness, your awareness. When you relax into it, you realize that it’s also full – it is everything. You realize this presence is what you really are: Love.” ~Arjuna Ardagh

When you meditate, and experience your presence as a simple pure state of awareness and choice, then you begin to notice that it’s the ground of all your other states… emotions, thoughts, accomplishments, ways of being, roles, things you identify with, attachments.

“If you are too busy to meditate, you are too busy.” ~Maharishi Yogi

When we make time for the things that support us – like meditation and exercise – we can better handle everything else in the day more effectively, and more than make up that time. Do please incorporate some or all of the Raise Our Vibrations Project into your life. The ramifications, I promise you, will be profound. Everything changes when we raise our vibration and open our heart chakras. Simply your work on yourself, shared with friends and family, affects the world around you and is a meaningful cause of change for better in the world as a whole. Yes, it’s magical.

The Battle of Fear and Faith

Guest article by Karen Wright…

I was watching Brad Pitt’s movie Money Ball last night and realized something as I watched him struggle with the hard spot he was in – then after a time, he simply delcared, “Okay” and got up and took action. You could tell he was dealing with his own sense of purpose and self-confidence. But, he found his way out of the mess and made a decision that propelled him forward.

It struck me that for quite some time now, I’ve not made a definitive decision for my life path. I’ve weighed options and taken steps in several different directions, but when it really came down to it, I stopped short of making a real decision. So, I circled around the issue frozen in the oppositional pull of competing possibilities – and I stayed stuck. There may be nothing more demoralizing and painful than not making a decision.

I know this stuff. I’ve taught it many times. The hard part of any decision is in not making it, not in its consequences. Once the decision is made, life flows again and either you come to the outcome you wanted or you don’t. But, at least you find out! Not making a decision might feel safe, but it is indeed the the most treacherous place of all.

It’s time I stop pretending to dance with options and weigh my possibilities and hope that one will magically reveal my true path. My true path is what I choose, plain and simple. There is no wrong choice – with maybe the exception of making NO choice. Every choice is a step forward and with that step we learn more that will make the next step clearer.

How do you make a decision? You just do. There are no logical processes or rational models to substitute for pure courage, faith, and trust. That’s what this life is all about. Choosing and acting on your choice. And then choosing again. It’s impossible for me to choose wrong or live my life wrong. There is no correct way that someone has already outlined for how to live my life. It’s my life – one that has never been lived before. It’s my choice – and mine alone.

Years ago I had a recurring dream. It began as I stood with my toes on the edge of a cliff. The valley below was so deep I could not see its bottom. Just an open abyss. From behind me a disembodied voice gently urged, “Jump.” Fear clutched my throat and I cried out, “No, I’ll die.”

“You’ll be fine,” the voice assured, “Nothing bad will happen.” Still not convinced, I clung to my fear and refused to jump. But, then I held one tentative foot out over the chasm and then somehow stepped out with the other foot – suspended in mid-air. I did not fall; there was no sense of danger. Just peace.

The next moment I was again atop the cliff; but this time it was I who encouraged another to jump. There’s no mistaking that it was my much wiser spiritual Self encouraging my fearful physical self.

I had that dream 10 or more times 1987. The year my marriage ended, I almost declared bankruptcy, and my friends and options seemed to have vanished. Jump. I did. And I lived.

So, here I am again. Cowering at the edge of the cliff; pretending that my fear is bigger than my dream. Doubting myself again while life ticks by. What the hell can happen? Will I die if I replace fear with faith? Not likely. What am I waiting for? Someone else’s A-Okay? It’s MY toes on that cliff, not theirs. And it’s no one’s decision but mine.

It’s tiring pretending to be weak. God didn’t make weak people. It’s time I grow up and tell the truth – this cycle is at an end. Whatever the consequences may be, I choose to live, not wait to die.

Yea, I know you’ve heard all this from me before. More than once. And talk is cheap. But, there’s a core of disgust in my belly that’s not been there before. Or maybe it’s conviction. The two emotions often feed one another.

Today I put my ACTION plan where my mouth is. I’ve wanted to move to Portland, Oregon for quite some time and I’ll be there by June! Not yet sure how that will happen or where the work will come from, but someone once told me that ‘how’ isn’t my job. Knowing WHY and WHAT is my role.

When the why is strong enough, the how shows up. I’m counting on the promise that the universe/God responds to clarity and conviction. I’ll step forward in faith and let my desires be heard. I’ll be supported; I always have been. I just temporarily forgot.

Quantum Physics, Near Death Experiences, Eternal Consciousness, Religion, and the Human Soul

Written by William Bray, a physicist in neuroscience research who has experienced multiple NDEs. This book is currently available in Kindle edition for no cost whatsoever…

Download from Amazon.com

The book describes how and why reality, this Universe, is interdependent with consciousness in order to exist. Beginning with the founders of Quantum Physics, Bray describes in detail how we interact with, manipulate and define the finite Universe. We “Paint the Universe into Being”, as Bray says based on the hard data which has been proven as correct through a century of quantum research. This consciousness is unique for each individual and will remain so. He also identifies in philosophy and religion the truths that are permanent through centuries, if you extract them from myth and dogma. Through this, many paradoxes in physics, religions and philosophy are eliminated. Bray shows that contrary to cognitive belief systems which change day by day, Faith is being aware that one exists as a tangible, unique and real infinite being in an eternal consciousness in which we totally focus when we die, or when we have a Near Death Experience.

William has studied consciousness not only as a physicist and neuroscientist, but as a unique experiencer: he is a rarity who has had many near-death experiences, many medically documented, due to an unknown medical condition which caused his death many times. He also proves through physics how our consciousness must be eternal in order to exist. In fact, even while we are experiencing this short, finite, physical life, we are at the same time existing in the eternal consciousness, only that we are not aware of it, because we are focusing in this finite Universe observation. The purpose is not to “prove” God, but to show that each of us is a unique individual consciousness that exists beyond space-time, for infinity.

The book presents a working definition for consciousness that aligns with the formal definitions of Quantum Physics as well as the philosophies and religions of Man. It states that consciousness cannot reside within the limited confines of this finite reality as it has been misunderstood to be, and as such, consciousness has evaded being properly defined until now. Finding this definition was the hope of the founders of Quantum Physics in order to complete a model that describes a universe interdependent on our existence.

Review of the Brain Salon

Brain Salon

Imagine changing your state of mind – with the simple click of a button… Get focused. Become happier. Even fall asleep. Just by clicking “Play.”

That’s what the producers of a new brainwave program are claiming. Merely slip on your headphones, listen to a little enticing audio, and watch your mental state shift – all within minutes. Sounds like something from a science fiction movie? Definitely. And that’s why I absolutely had to check it out.

Exploring the Brain Salon
Who could resist being able to control how they feel – just by listening to a little audio? The Brain Salon contains six 30-minute audio sessions, each of which claim to bring about a specific state of mind.

Inside the Brain Salon box, you’ll find CDs containing sessions for creativity, deep sleep, energy, focus, relaxation – there’s even a session for boosting your happiness levels. All you have to do is slip on your headphones, play the session for you – and watch your state change, on-demand. At least, that’s what the bright orange CD sleeve said.

So, I decided to give it a go.

Delving into ‘The Zone’
Now, we’ve all been in The Zone at some point before. That great place where everything just flows, where our thoughts are sharp as a pin, and we perform at our absolute peak. Well, ‘Razor Sharp’ is one of the Brain Salon sessions that promises to recreate that state. But would it really affect my concentration?

Absent-minded, I played the session using headphones, while checking my morning e-mail. The euphoric sounds and vibration-style noises initially sounded a little strange, but I soon began enjoying the experience. Then, almost before I realized, the 30-minute session was over – and, wow, my inbox was clear. That’s a process which usually takes me at least a couple of hours or so each morning.

As I took off the headphones, I also noticed that my mind was completely free of its usual “brain fog” – and that the clarity of my thinking was way above my regular Friday morning standard. The improvement in my acuity was very noticeable, and the effects lasted throughout the whole day. As an experiment, I skipped a day, then repeated the experiment – and once again experienced the same results.

There could be no doubt about it. The ‘Razor Sharp’ session absolutely put me into a state of total clarity, taking me straight from morning drudge to The Zone in a matter of minutes. That’s when I got really interested.

The World of ‘Brainwave Entrainment’
I don’t know about you, but “how stuff works” really interests me. And being a pretty logical person, I was intensely curious as to how something like the Brain Salon could really backup its claims. Well, it’s all down to a science known as “brainwave entrainment.”

I’ve spent a lot of time researching this area, and there’s a really useful explanation of the science on the Brain Salon website – but, just for you, here are the essentials. Every state of mind has a unique electrical signature that can be detected in the brain. These signatures are known as “brainwaves.” Using specialized equipment, such as an EEG machine, these waves can be measured and recorded. That allows scientists to map what brainwave patterns are present during certain key states of mind.

The Brain Salon sessions use special inaudible pulses, mixed into the music, to recreate certain brainwave signatures, and thereby recreate specific states of mind. States such as creativity, relaxation, and deep sleep – for example! It’s completely safe, backed by almost 100 years of brainwave research – and absolutely, unbelievably amazing. No question about it. I was hooked.

Beyond Basics: Exploring the Sessions
After experimenting with ‘Razor Focus’, I decided to explore the rest of the Brain Salon series – with interesting results. Being a troubled sleeper, I decided to check out ‘Ultra Deep Sleep’ one night. I just hit play while lying in my bed, and allowed myself to get soaked up by the deep, etheric, pulsating sounds. In no time at all, I’d fallen asleep. And not just any sleep, but perhaps one of the deepest, undisturbed, most relaxing sleeps I’ve ever experienced. The user manual isn’t joking when it claims “you’ll probably never hear the end of this session.”

The other sessions proved even more enjoyable. I used “Happy Pill” one evening prior to a night out, to dig myself out of a bad mood – and get myself feeling peppy for the party night ahead. It worked wonders. I was the life of the party, flowing with charisma and in the greatest of moods. “On absolute top form,” according to one close friend.

And it doesn’t stop there. I’ve also used “High Energy Espresso” to really give me a total burst of energy, just before a big day, a gym workout, or anything requiring big time mental muscle.

And “Creative Spark” – which I’ve already used to triple the number of business ideas I produce each week. Oh, and “Power Chill” too – the ideal replacement for a glass of wine after work. It helps you to relax, chill out, and recharge those batteries for the evening ahead.

Conclusion
When the orange Brain Salon box fell onto my doorstep, I couldn’t have imagined the impact it would have on my life. Who would’ve thought three simple CDs could do so much? Happiness. Creativity. Deep sleep. Energy. Focus. Relaxation. All in one little box. And all you have to do is hit the “Play” button to activate.

Arthur C. Clarke said that “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” This is that advanced technology. And for me, it really does work like magic.

Is this like something from a science fiction movie? Yes. But does it work? Definitely.

Rating: 10/10

Pros: It works! Powerful. Portable. Sessions for each major mind state.

Cons: Need 30 minutes to listen to each session. Some sessions require headphones.

P.S. There’s another big plus, perhaps most important of all, as I discovered after a month or two of regular use. Brainwave entrainment is a learning tool. When you’ve accessed a desirable brain state a few times with the aid of Brain Salon, it becomes increasingly easier to ‘remember’ how the state feels and to access it unaided. So there are permanent benefits to using Brain Salon!

What is healing?

“Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn’t you – all of the expectations, all of the beliefs – and becoming who you are.” ~ Rachel Naomi Remen

Whatever you resist, persists. The healing route is the opposite of resistance, it is acceptance. The way out is the way through: to open up, release our feelings, accept and let them go. To face reality as it is, which is much easier with love in our hearts rather than negative interpretations and self-defeating beliefs. As Buddha stated, “Our sorrows and wounds are healed only when we touch them with compassion.” Fortunately love is our true nature and is unlimited in supply.

The above is from Peter Shepherd’s Inspiring Quote of the Day.

Please do sign up. I think these are going really well and over the weekend I’ve discovered many further wonderful quotes, and of course I come across them all the time in books and so on. I love to share them with you.
